I'll not be counting pixels here, just drawings. Please, read until the end xD 'cause below all images, there is a bit of text.
Sometimes I just feel like trying to motive people, that's a fact xD
The ones who have watched me over the years, know that I did before mouse art, and then I stopped art. The art I did before was pretty different to this one so, I'm not going to count it - it was all anime/manga style, just humans, so it was pretty far away from what I'm actually doing.
I stopped drawing several years due to the opinion of several people, including art teachers on school that I admired a lot, and the only thing I kept doing was doodles or very, very simple works, specially pokemon ones.
This year has been when I've really started to draw aaaand I really think that the change has been pretty big.
I have a LOT of work done on my gallery, so... I'll go just until... march? more or less. (I'm just checking my gallery and omg, I thought I started before o_o). That time I just started with adoptables and starting to draw again. With mouse! e.e These are some of my works of the first adopts I got/sold:
Yeah guys, these were done with mouse between march and april with mouse. On may I released maybe my most famous species, floradragons:
I drew a lot of them so part of my gallery are just floradragons at this point, sorry guys x'DDD The next works are until 23th june, all of them with mouse too:
I kept doing random mouse drawings for a while, but it was more of less this date when I started using graphic tablet.
These were done until... 13th july, more or less. Too lazy to see again the dates xDD I was working with an old tablet I had, almost broke. Maybe some of you remember when I had to do several commissions to get my current tablet when my tablet pen broke e.e Some more works after that:
That last one was done on 1st august. Not so far from now, huh? Let's continue a bit more!
From the beginning to the end of august (we all can see that I was way more motivated on the beginning that on the end rofl). September!
Until end of september That starts to be pretty more similar to my current work, isnt it?
Aaaand from beginning to end of october! This is way more similar to my current art, not counting pixels. From november until now:
- from now I'll skip a part of november, due to it was when I started to have attacks due to stress. I forced myself to draw so I'll not count them-
And these are some of my newest works.
The point I wanted to say is... The only way to improve is working. Working hard, and enjoying. Compare your art with other's art if you want, but, compare with your own previous art as well. I'm not a talented one nor similar, I'm just a normal person like all of you, everybody can improve this, and even more!
So! For all these that have told me a lot of times "you're so good", "I'll never be able to do that". You can. Just be a bit more confident and give a try. And if you don't like the result, just give a second try. And another one if necessary. Keep working until you get satisfied, but always enjoying what you're doing. And remember that doing what we like the most is the best way to improve.
- Compare your current art with your previous art. That will help you to get a boost of motivation.
- Learn watching the art of others: anatomy, colors. Put an eye on poses and how the body works on it.
- Draw without any reference on the way you like, that will help you to develop a style.
- Enjoy what you're doing and what you're drawing. Draw for someone that you love or for a dear friend. That will make you to put an effort that you didn't know you could do.
- And, over all things. Draw for yourself on the way you like. It's good to hear critiques, but sometimes critiques can take you to a point that you're not confortable so, over all, draw in the way you feel more close to you.
Now you all, take your pens and start practicing! I dare you to improve faster than the light! If I've been able to improve in some months, I'm sure that you can do it too!
