Basic information

Even if they don't look like that, lightbringers are the most intelligent specie in Galean. They're the only specie that has been able to develop technology by their own, even if they're able to use magic. They are known to be able to play with vital force of other creatures, so they are mostly feared.

The fear from other species has made them a pretty closed specie, being almost impossible to see out of their cities and villages - and maybe that's the reason because they could evolve so fast, for becoming stronger by themselves.

When they are born they're given a lamp or a pendant that acts as home for little spirits. These spirits will be with the owner the whole life. Rumours say that the spirits are ancestors of the owner, and they take form depending on the owner's heart.

They use to wear clothes.

Anatomy

They have chubby legs and uses to have medium-thin body. When they are standing over their back legs their size is half as a human. They have a very long tail that uses to pick up the lantern.

The size and weight of the tail lets lightbringers be able to walk and stand over their back legs. It can be used as a hand too, being able to pick up four times the weight of the body.

Fur can grow on head, back and tail, but never on ears, belly or legs.

Also some of them can have horns, but most of these are nigromanths.

Different types of lightbringers

There are 3 known types of lightbringers, and they can be discovered due to the form of their souls.

Normal ones have mostly rounded souls, maybe with legs. They are not specially good at magic but they are lovers of technology and progress. Normal lightbringers use to live on cities.
Nigromanth lightbringers have souls with little horns. The use to have dark colors or a grey scale base. It is known that some of them have horns. They are able to steal the vital force of other creatures - it is rumored that the most vital force they have stolen, the stronger they are. They are pretty rare and live anywhere, most of the times hidding their souls.
Priest lightbringers uses to have light colors and their souls have little wings. They are known to be able to give vital force to other creatures. Pretty rares, they prefer to live in quiet villages (but, exceptions to this exist).

About the souls

Every lightbringer has, at least, one soul. The lamp glows when the souls are kept inside. Depending on the size of the lamp they can have up to 3 souls.

The pendant is the smallest container. Just can carry a soul.
The usual lamp can carry two souls. They carry it on the tail.
The largest lamps can carry 3 souls.

What they eat...

Anything! They can eat pure magic too.

Some curiosities

If the owner forgets the lamp or gets away from it for some reason, the spirits will follow or search the owner carrying the lamp with them.
The spirits never let to get the lamp touched for anyone that is not the owner. Just a very important friend or lover can touch the lamp.
When they're walking over their back legs the tail is almost touching the floor. If they're walking over their four legs, the tail will be always over the back - The size and weight of the tail makes them to walk over two legs.
Even if they can't fly, they have developed planes and instruments that allow them to fly.
They are the most intelligent specie on Galean, but they enjoy being with other species - even not inteligent ones. Plus, they makes fun from kirions and their pride.
They prefer to walk and run using four legs instead of two.
